Full mouth reconstruction, full mouth rehabilitation and full mouth restoration are terms often used interchangeably to describe the process of rebuilding or simultaneously restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws.
Why would I need a full mouth reconstruction?
• Tooth loss due to decay, trauma, or neglect/fear of dentists.
• Injured or fractured teeth.
• Worn or ground down teeth as a result from clenching or bruxism
• Damage from acid erosion from foods/beverages (soda, lemons/limes, juice, etc) or stomach acid (GERD, bulimia, etc.)

What are the steps involved in a full mouth rehabilitation?
An in-depth consultation and a comprehensive oral exam to determine the extent of your existing oral health is the first step. Dr. Ace will discuss your concerns one-on-one and answer any questions about the procedures or options you may have. Dr. Ace will take photos, xrays, and may even take impressions (molds) of your teeth. Once your teeth, bone, gums, and bite pattern, are assessed, Dr. Ace will work with you to discuss a treatment program that can help you achieve the smile you want over time. Sometimes the plan can be custom tailored for time, quick vs. staged treatment.
Can I Treat just one tooth at a time?
Just like any other organ, each tooth works together as a whole unit. Much too often, a crown is done one at a time, with a “checkerboard” pattern of color and material selection showing each time you smile. The patchwork of dental work makes it look un-natural and un-esthetic. When the whole mouth is taken into consideration, you can have a significant improvement in your bite as well as a uniform look in your smile.
Full Mouth Rehabilitation vs. Smile Makeover
What is the difference between full mouth rehab and a smile makeover? A smile makeover is something that you elect to have performed (Cosmetic, elective), while a full mouth reconstruction is needed to maintain your healthy function. Dr. Ace has studied with the some of the best worldwide, learning firsthand what it takes to restore your function and beauty.
